Have you ever wondered what was in the store bought baby wipes, what chemicals were being used? I often think about this and started searching the internet about baby wipes and what was in them. As I was searching I came across several sites on homemade baby wipes and I got to thinking. This has got to be easier and much more cheaper than buying wipes at the store.
Have you thought about making your own baby wipes? There are many different ways you can make your baby wipes and can be modify to just they way you like it. Very simple and very easy to make.
Here is a basic recipe you can use and/or modify to your liking:
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups distilled water
2 tsp baby shampoo or baby wash (mild soap)
1 tsp baby oil (or could use olive oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, etc… instead of baby oil)
1/2 roll of sturdy paper towels (bounty) or baby wash cloths
1 baby wipes container or something similar
Optional:
A few drops Tea Tree oil (helps prevent musty smell and mold)
Essential oils (like lavender, gives a good smell)
Directions:
Mix water, shampoo, oil, tea tree oil and/or essential oils in bowl.
Place paper towels or wash cloths in the wipes container.
Pour mixture over paper towels or wash cloths until soaked.
If using paper towels, remove inner cardboard and pull wipes from center for use.
You can also use these wipes on the go to wipe hands and faces if you have other children or for yourself.
